22 Dec 2020 JOBMAKER
If you’re looking to employ new team members, the government is providing a decent incentive in the form of the JobMaker scheme.
The first JobMaker period is already underway – it started on October 7th and runs until January 6th – so if you have brought on a new employee between 16 and 35 years of age in the past couple of months, you might already be in a position to make a claim.
Essentially, if you meet all of the eligibility criteria, the ATO will pay you back $200 per week for any new employee between 16 and 29 and $100 per week for a new member of your team aged between 30 and 35.
The scheme is going to run for two years, or eight periods of three months each, so we think it will factor into the hiring decisions of many businesses.
Check out our comprehensive JobMaker Guide for all of the details and give us a call if you have any questions.
As always, we encourage you to be as proactive as possible in assessing your circumstances and your options.
Should you have any questions please feel free to get in touch with your direct contact here at The Practice in your usual manner.
Even if calling on our expertise simply eases the stress caused by these exceptional challenges, we’ll feel as if we’ve helped.
