New CEO “Storms” The Practice
We are thrilled to announce that experienced executive Ron Gauci has joined The Practice as CEO.
Ron was appointed after an exhaustive process to find the right person to lead the firm through our next phase of growth and development, following the retirement of previous CEO Alan Bliss.
He has developed a reputation as a dynamic and inspirational transformation and business growth specialist, having taken on some of the most difficult commercial and brand reputational challenges. Most notably, Ron was appointed CEO of the Melbourne Storm in the aftermath of the devastating salary cap rorting scandal which threatened the club’s very survival.
Ron has also held executive positions at Melbourne’s iconic Federation Square, the financially challenged Melbourne Polytechnic (formerly NMIT), and the Aust/NZ operations of the US based global technology company Verizon Business. In his role as CEO of each of these organisations, he developed and executed a significant transformation and growth program.
He has held senior leadership and executive roles in ASX & NYSE listed, global multinational, joint venture and government organisations including Microsoft, Telstra and IBM, as well as directorships in a range of not-for-profit and startup ventures. He continues to sit on several boards across a variety of industries.
The question must be asked: why has a “turnaround” CEO joined The Practice?
“I was asked that a lot when I first met the team!” Ron laughs.
“Simply, I felt that I was at risk of being pigeon-holed as a crisis CEO when in reality what I enjoy doing most is working with businesses with great potential, transforming them so that they can realise that potential. The Practice is a stable organisation with great people, culture and service offerings with a powerful mission of “Liberating People’s Lifestyles”. It has significant growth potential that I hope I can have a significant impact upon. The Practice fits the bill perfectly,” he said.
“I’m incredibly excited at the opportunities before us, and invigorated by the challenge that awaits.”
Ron is married with five children and five grandchildren. He has a long history of active involvement in sport, is a keen golfer, and is passionate about music: he’s a member of the executive band Big Kahuna which regularly gigs around town. He’s an avid supporter and member of the Essendon Football Club, Melbourne Victory and Melbourne Storm.
Join us in welcoming Ron to The Practice family.
